Rosie and her twin brother were abandoned by their nervous first time mother and left for us to raise. This is a very unfortunate but rather common scenario for sheep. So we had to take them in. Rosie’s brother was very sickly- which may have been a reason that he was abandoned- but we nursed him and tried to bring him back to health, but we couldn’t. One day Rosie’s sweet brother left us, leaving us all devastated. Around that time we brought Jake into our care, and the two formed a sibling-like bond. Unfortunately, losing her brother wasn’t the only hardship in Rosie’s life. Years later, Rosie got pregnant, but the lamb came in the middle of a snowstorm. Sadly, we didn’t find the lamb in time.

But despite Rosie’s difficult past, she now enjoys her time at the sanctuary. She loves chilling with the flock- and more specifically- her “brother” Jake.
