Cado’s story
Cado was the daughter of a stray who showed up on a couples’ doorstep in Texas, however they could not care for her or her sister Rollie. They didn’t want to give the two to a shelter because most shelters in Texas only give dogs a few days to get adopted, and if they don't, they put them down. This is because Texas and other southern states have such a large dog population. A study in 2016 showed that there were 8,700 strays, and that was just in Dallas alone. So we drove down to Texas to pick the two sisters up. Her sister Rollie got adopted in November 2023, and Cado is living her best life in the sanctuary. Cado never fails to make her caretakers laugh with her funny yet kind personalty.
