Happy Gotcha Day Tina
Today is Tina the cat's special day
Ah, Valentine’s Day, what does it make you think of? Hearts, candy, chocolate, maybe Cupid? Well for us, it reminds us of Tina! Tina (Short for Valentina) showed up on our back porch late one night on Valentine’s day. We were enjoying a peaceful evening, when out of nowhere, the dogs started going berserk. We ran outside to find a small, young, scruffy, terrified little ball of black fuzz on the back porch. We brought her in, settled her down, and started looking for her owner online right away. After a bunch of hard searching and still no luck, it was clear Tina was a new member of the family. We took her to the vet, got her all checked up, and gave her medicines for various ailments she picked up while on the run. However after several weeks went by, we noticed she had started getting somewhat big…
She had an X-Ray, and, sure enough, the vets said she had 2 to 3 kittens in her. Well, the day finally came, and she had 5! Tiramisu, Toastada, Enchalada, Moonpie, and Biggy Smalls. We were overjoyed, until we noticed something odd, their eyes.
After an exam at the vet, they realized something. They had given Tina a medicine that gives kittens eye troubles if the mother cat takes it while pregnant. Well, sure enough it did. We did all we could to get their eyes fixed, including Tiramisu having to undergo three eye surgeries. Her kittens (now adults) still have a bit of eye trouble to this day.
Biggy got adopted, but the rest of the siblings still live here with their mom and the other rescue cats.
Everyone please wish Tina warm Gotcha day wishes! She’s going to spend the day resting and cuddling with her kittens. Happy 4th Gotcha Day Tina, we hope you have a great one
